DICE/EA behind & outdated!
September 5th 2006 - by Bama |
You just came into a little extra
money, and now you have decided to upgrade that old display to one
of the new widescreen models. That is good and very
understandable, even more so since the prices have really come
down a lot. Now your game of choice happens to be BF2 and
you also expect to purchase the upcoming BF2142 as well, but you
never realized that BF2 does not support widescreen. Even
more disappointing is you just learned that BF2142 will not
support widescreen as well. The fact is that EA/DICE are not
going to ad support to BF2 nor add it to BF2142 because they think
it will be an in game advantage for the widescreen players and a
disadvantage for the ones that don't have widescreen.
The simple truth here is that DICE/EA are still living in the dark
ages with respect to widescreen, and for that matter many other
areas of gaming as well. If a gamer spends his hard earned
money to up grade his gaming system he should expect to be able to
use the up grade, and not have some game developer say
something ridiculous and antiquated like it will give you an
unfair advantage. There is no difference here than some one
playing with a high-end video card and others playing with a
cheaper card. Then there are players with a great connection
to the Internet and others with a not so great connection. So what
is DICE/EA thinking? I really don't hate to say this at all,
DICE/EA have their head so far up their ass they are seeing
nothing but the dark past. When does a game developer not
offer their community all of the new cutting edge hardware game
support. Answerer: When they think they know what's better for the
Community that the Community it self.
Back at the beginning of this year when I bought my 24" Dell
Widescreen I was lead to believe that it was a major undertaking
to add widescreen support to BF2. Later I found out this is
just not so! I found this over at
widescreengaming.com. Ryan
Elam of Sigil Games answers a question in an interview with
widescreengaming.com that stats the simple fact that adding
widescreen support is very simple to do and would not even require
very much time to do so. Here is a quote from this interview
which tells it all.
|
| Ryan Elam: |
"3D programs use the mathematical equivalent of a ‘pinhole
camera’, one with an infinitely small aperture. Converting a
game to widescreen is actually quite simple, and any game
maker who is making a PC game is going to already have
everything in his engine that he needs to support
widescreen. You can think of the typical ‘camera’ as having
a completely adjustable aspect ratio. The same math that
allows us to render at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 is used to
render at 1600x900 or 1920x1080. The only real difference is
the number of pixels and a larger ‘viewport’ which would
cause more things to be rendered, but programmers don’t
really have to take extra steps to account for such a
change."
The whole Interview is
here! |
|
| Screw DICE/EA and their archaic thinking. I don't think that
they even have the slightest idea that Widescreen is already in
the main stream, and by next year as the prices keep falling more
than half of the gaming Communities will own widescreen displays.
Just who do they think they are to tell us all this BS, when they
don't even know what they are talking about, or worse they do know
,and are just plain lying. |

Tanks & Screens of Fuel of War
September 2nd 2006 - by Bama |
FrontLines: Fuel of War.
Frontlines Warfare has posted new
screen shots as well as a new interview with Frank DeLise, and a
video interview with Joe Halper that was posted at the THQ web
site. All this great new information does is remind us we
still have a year before Fuel of War is released on PC.
However the more I see the more I believe this a game that this
clan will devote a lot of our future game time too.
Lets start off with three renderings
of the Western Coalition main battle tank. You can click on
each tank to see a large picture. I took these on the beach
near my home.
 |
Video Interview with Joe Halper of
Kaos Studios. There is much
new information in this video, like the javelin missile which when
fired does just like the real thing flying high then heading down
from above to hit the target.
The video is posted at THQ:
Interview with Joe Halper
Next is an Interview with Frank DeLise of
Kaos Studios, and former
Developer of the Bf1942 Mod Desert Combat with Stealth97 over at
Frontlines Warfare.

Can you explain to us what type of
gameplay we expect?
As a gamer, Frontlines was designed out of a passion in this
Genre to fill a void that was missing. There simply is no
non-linear single player military games with the intensity,
battle chatter, squad play combined with the go anywhere do
anything vehicle play. That combined with Co-op, Multiplayer
on all platforms and near future weapons based on real
military designs. I am also tired of single player games
that force you to keep redoing the same thing every time you
die, in FFOW you are always chipping away at the battle and
you can form new strategies as you go. For Multiplayer, I
really want teamwork to matter. In FFOW, teamwork truly
makes your team stronger. More than two people in a vehicle
make vehicles much more powerful by target sharing and
counter measures, the frontline only moves forward if you
work as a team, so expect to see some really cool team based
features using the latest military equipment.

Spread The Below Article in Every
Way You Can !
August 21st 2006 - by Bama |
If we can get many Players to spread
the blow article throughout the Internet just maybe DICE/EA will
take notice. You can do this by posting on any forum, any where
that's game related, e-mail it to any people of importance,
even send it to print game magazines. It does not matter if
it's been posted by another, post it again.
Can you imagine what this game "BF2" would be like if DICE/EA
allowed BF2 Mods Rank Server status? It could be one of the
greatest and long lasting games to come down the road. The
content would never get old, and the mods would get even better
than now if that's possible. More maps to play and the Mod
teams would add new maps as time moved along. So please,
it's in your best interest as well as the entire BattleField
Community. I have made a text file for most forums, and one
for other uses without the forum BB codes, so all you have to do
is copy and past. I have also added a lead in for the forums
post, you might wish to read that. You can also add your own lead
in.
BB Formatted Text File
Non Formatted Text File
Spread it like fertilizer on a Spring Lawn, water it any chance
you get, and maybe, just maybe we as gamers can teach DICE/EA how
to make a real success of a computer game.

I am not a big supporter of
the BF2 Ranking and Stat System. I feel that it takes away from
the Team aspect of the game play, however I also believe that no
matter what, this is not going to change. BF2 is stuck with this
Rank/Stat System, and the BF2 Mod Community will soon die because
of it. This slow death of the Mod Community perceived or not by
players, EA/DICE, and even the Mod Community is very, very real.
The problem we all face is player mentality with the Rank/Stat
System, and every Mod, no matter how good have a direct and unfair
competitor in the this System. It does not matter if you are for
the Rank/Stat System or not. What does matter is that the vas
majority do love their Stats, and while they may play a new Mod
they will be back for their stat fix in short order. The very
talented BF2 Mod Community is most definitely adversely effected
by the Rank/Stat System with this Player mentality regardless if
they will admit it or not. Another problem is after 14 months of
BF2 we have a bunch of worn-out, and very stale Maps. These levels
have been played so much that they have become very boring. The
BF2 Community has been supplied with only one new ranked map in 14
months "Wake_Island", and one more coming with the 1.4 patch "Road_To_Jalalabad",
which will also get old and stale quickly. Yet even with very
little new content for the Ranked/Stat server System these players
will continue to play these old and boring maps just to get their
Rank & stat fix, but in fewer numbers with each passing day.
The Downside is that much sooner rather than later the BF2
Mod Community will dissolve, blown to the winds, and the BF2142
Mod Community may never be born. Why? Simple logic, if after
thousands of man hours of hard and enthusiastic work their great
creation i.e. Modification, no matter how good it might be, is not
played then all of the Gaming Communities suffer. Even the Gamming
Industry it self will suffer down the road as great potential Game
designers have left the marketplace. All because of their
disappointing experience with an unfair completive advantage by
this Rank/Stat System. However there is hope because there is an
answer to this problem, but can DICE/EA see it?
An example of a Very Good BF2 Mod.
Myself along with some of my Clan Brothers recently played
the Mod called Operation PeaceKeeper .15 "OPK" for the first time,
and I was really taken aback by this great modification. OPK beats
any Mod I have seen to date even the original BF2 it self. This
German Mod Team really outdid themselves in every aspect of this
Mod, Overall design and input of new personal weapons, Vehicles,
Vehicle Physics, and skins of all types. If I had to pick just one
thing this Mod team excelled at it would be the seven custom maps
that were provided with OPK. Literally pieces of art, these
maps are out of this world, and the very best I have ever seen.
While the eye candy abounds the low poly count playability, and
balance is fantastic. Six of the sever maps come in 16, 32 and 64
player versions. Even the 64 player versions while filled with
very high detail, and all kinds of new renderings seem to have no
graphics lag at all. The thought which has gone into these seven
maps shows a superior level of skill than I have seen to date, and
this includes DICE. Upon release of OPK .15 servers running the
mod were as high as 300 plus for several nights, but by day 5 they
are down to 50 servers. Remember Player mentality and the
Rank/Stat System. Operation PeaceKeeper is just one example of
many new and exciting Mods expected to be released soon. I
sincerely hope all this talent was not in vain.
As I stated above there is an answer to this problem, which
will benefit everyone, the mod community, the players, and of
course DICE/EA. The answer does require that DICE/EA step up to
the plate and except the fact that there are some modifications
that equal or surpass the original BF2, and through what ever
process DICE/EA wants to apply each mod presented should be
tested, reviewed, and the mods that qualify allowed to be placed
on Ranked Status. Approved Ranked Mods would only be allowed on
DICE/EA Approved Ranked servers. This would have several very
positive effects, the first would be to re-establish respect &
strong support for DICE/EA within the entire BF2 Community, and
any EA published game in the future. Secondly it would totally
rejuvenate the Mod Community giving them something to shoot for
and even creating a higher level of quality output. Thirdly,
it would increase play on every Ranked server on-line, and even
bring back many players who left in discus over the last year for
what ever reason. Finely, and I'm sure would be top on the DICE/EA
list, would be many new sales of BF2, and BF2142. The open beta
of the 1.4 patch and the up coming open beta of BF2142 does show
sweet signs that DICE/EA are trying to move in the right
direction. I think that by it self the open beta is just to
little to late, but if they couple the open betas with allowing
approved modification to be placed on approved ranked servers then
DICE/EA will have created something great. Simply put, not
stepping up and moving innovatively forward will relegate BF2 to
just another mundane, and buggy FPS that can cause the loss of
many future dollars in product sales for DICE/EA.
In conclusion:
A few modifications to be considered, OPK, Desert Conflict, POE2,
Rising Conflicts, and there are many more.
Possibly expanding ModLight to aid in Mod selection should work
beautifully.
What ever decisions are made to make the Battlefield series great
again DICE/EA must to do it quickly!
I hopefully Pray that this article will not be in vain!

Developing
FrontLines: Fuel of War
August 7th 2006 - by Bama |
Boy, oh Boy, Have I missed the days
when the Developers of Games communicated with their following.
Well, fact is there is still one Developer which is doing a lot of
communicating today.
Kaos Studios, the game development
company put together by Frank DeLise of
Desert Combat Fame is
reaching out, and they do respond. Very refreshing, and something
I don't think they will stop doing for their Following.
I posted the following at
FrontLines Warfare forums where
the Kaos Studios people hang out. Why, because Kaos Studios has
requested any Pro and Con input from the BF2 Community. Simply,
they do not wish to make the mistakes that EA/DICE have made. |
|
|
Two importance Areas that DICE did not
support in BF2. |
|
http://www.frontlineswar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=171
|
| Server-Side Modding:
|
This is simple,
there is no support for this feature in BF2. It can't be
done at all! Any change to a map server-side and each client
must have the same change in his Map. Now this may not sound
like it's important, but rest assure it is. What made Desert
Combat last so long, and still going strong today is that
server admins can modify any map and the client does not
need the changes in his map. Many of the most popular DC
servers even today use modified maps. i.e. Our DCBB EL 24/7
.70 server has been running for 2 years now with modified
content, which is changed from time to time. This simple
feature has made BF1942, and DC last a lot longer and even
creates sales of Bf1942 to this day. Above all it makes the
community very happy.
Coop, Single Player, AI:
I can't believe how DICE not only missed the boat on this
issue with the very first release of BF2, but to this day
still does not have a clue how it has effected the
community. I do give credit to someone at DICE for creating
one hell of an AI, but that is where it stops. The game
shipped with only 16 player maps supporting Single Player,
and NO COOP at all. Not all Multi-Player people just play
multi-player games on-line. I for one like to go against the
AI especially on new maps to get familiar with the maps
before playing them on-line. So there are a lot of
multi-player people who admits this or not do enjoy playing
with AI now and again.
The biggie here is, there is a large pure single-player and
coop community who has been left out with BF2 and feel like
a red-headed step child. Now if you really want to meet
people who hate EA DICE you can talk to some of them at
Battlefield Singleplayer. You will also fine a strong
Single-Player and Coop Modding Community there as well.
EA and DICE also have forgotten that many purchasers of PC
games even today don't have a Broadband connection to the
Internet, and rely on playing with Bots. The last patch
release for BF2, 1.3 did include support for Coop, however
when they added coop support they screwed up the AI in a
large way. The feeling is that DICE will not fix this AI
problem with the next release 1.4 coming soon.
One plus for EA/DICE is that they are running an open Beta
for the 1.4 patch. However this might be to little to late.
In conclusion:
The above are just two more things that has left a very
bitter taste with a lot of Players. Combining the above with
all the other bad taste they have created may cause
thousands of player to not take another bite of DICE/EA
Games.
I hope this post will help Kaos Studios avoid these same
pitfalls. It's just a great pleasure to have Developers who
hear what their following have to say and respond to them. |
|
I also brought up a feature that many Gamers enjoyed in the
Original UT, and have not really seen since. I would love to see
this in a lot more games.
|
|
New? No, but will make FOF last a long
Time. |
|
http://www.frontlineswar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=172 |
There is a simple way
to allow server Admins to change the game play
somewhat to allow for different and fresh game play. In fact
this could even take the place of Server-Side modding of
maps. One of the biggest problems with most games is keeping
it fresh and lasting. Below is not new to the gaming world
and should be highly considered.
Allow Server Admins to turn off
individual object spawns, i.e. Un-check a box for
Heavy Armor and no Tanks will spawn. Un-Check a box for
Choppers, and no Heilos will spawn. In fact you could have
every personal weapon, and vehicle in the game with this
ability. What this does is create so many variations of the
game that it will take forever to get old. Now this is not
new, The original UT had this capability with one add on
mod. In UT you could even mix these mods, called mutilators.
Because of this feature UT has lasted a long, long time.
Taking this feature even further
you could even allow new modded weapons to be added
automatically to the interface as mods are added to the
server or client. Of course I think the Client must have
that mod to access, but maybe not if an auto download of
that weapon is available.
By the way DICE is adding with its' 1.4 patch a very simple,
and way to little of this feature which simply allow Admins
to turn off all vehicles in a game. Inf. Only! |
|
|
NOTE: Of course there is no
way to know at this time if
Kaos Studios will implement any of the
above, but one thing is a fact, they will read this, and we shall
see what the future holds. If I had to guess, then I would
say they will most definitely try and avoid the mistakes of
DICE/EA, and I would bet that any Game Developer wants their game
played forever.

Hey, battle bitches, this might just
be the stocking stuffer we were lookin’ 4…
not talking' bout you 'Santa Claws'... pawn slut!
No! I'm saying' maybe this is a good upgrade 4 all those elitist
perfectionados. To re-experience the real thing.
I saw prices from $76 to $101 US (57 / 80 euro).
Plus shipping… ( Shit! Dropped my wife’s piggy bank.)
The cons... Da Da Da Dum!... They are a bit heavy and the rear
surround effect is less than perfect.
Well, with my less than perfect ears and a few old clip-springs
bungeed off the ceiling I’ll give it a perfect 10.

Kaos Studios Next
Gen FPS
June 18th 2006 - by Bama |
Thanks to Frank DeLise the
creator of "Desert Combat" we will soon be playing a whole new
kind of FPS. Not only will Fuel of War bring all the latest
cutting edge graphics, but a new way to play on this 20 years into
the future Frontline battlefield. A little bit of RPG and a lot of
FPS, with the BF2 type vehicular combat available to each player.
No death match, no flags, no BS, your on the Frontlines with your
buddies, and only working together as a team can you move the
Frontline forward. Fuel of War is a real battlefield
FPS offering true team work, something DICE/EA were unable to do
with BF2.
Back in the days of BF1942 Frank DeLise came up with the
game-modification of all modifications with "Desert Combat".
Frank's expertise was not only code and the ability to lead a
great team of designers, but the ability to know what we the
Gamers wanted. Releasing a new build of Desert Combat to the
DC faithful every 45 days or so he was able to build his mod into
the most successful mod of all time. I don't expect anything
less from Frank with Frontlines: Fuel of War.
Fuel of War will be available on PC, Xbox 360, and,
PlayStation 3 in the late 3rd quarter to mid 4th quarter next
year, 2007. This writer wishes Frank and the Kaos Studios
team all the success in the world, and we are all waiting
anxiously for the release of Frontlines: Fuel of War!
Below are some E3 2006 reviews and comments on this new
FPS, Fuel of War.

DCBB WOW Division
Official with SOS Merger |

SOS Brings 138 WOW
Players to DCBB
June 13th 2006 - by Bama |
The DCBB small 20 player WOW bunch
has merged with the larger Soldiers of Solitude guild, the SOS,
and the SOS has merged with and is a Division of the DCBB. After a
meeting this morning with Grand Master fxblacknet and [DCBB]BlackDeath
most of the details have been worked out and agreed upon. [DCBB]BlackDeath
aka Co-GM Nicholi is now one of 3 Co-Grand Masters of the
SOS. The other Co-Grand Masters are Co-GM Tigerslim, and
Co-GM Kiriyama.
The SOS WOW Division members also may from time to time enter
the DCBB Team Speak and play BF2 and Desert Combat with other DCBB
Division Members. When they do each SOS Division Member will
ware the following Tag: [DCBB]Nickname-sos- for recognition
purposes.
The SOS will maintain their Guild name, the
SOS web site, and their 250
player Team Speak server. "IP: 64.247.18.146:8770 ". As far as the
SOS membership is concerned there will be no basic changes in
their Guild by this merger. Other details will be worked out
and announced as they are forth coming.
With this merger we now have about 250 members under the DCBB
Banner. Much more is in the works, and you will see many
changes in our structure as these changes are implemented.
However each DCBB Division will maintain it's anonymity and should
not be effected except in a very positive way. |

Frank DeLise,
"Desert Combat" To "Fuel of War" |
 |
|
The EA/DICE Buster?
June 13th 2006 - by Bama |
The DCBB was formed on the 1st day of
May 2003 as a Desert Combat Clan by three old gaming buddies,
myself, Iceman, and Cuda. Over the next 3 years we have gone to as
many as 100 members, and some of us have switched to BF2. However
even now the Desert Combat Division is still the strongest and
most devoted. We all have to thank one person for all the
enjoyment of Desert Combat, and that is Frank DeLise the founder
of Tramua Studios and the developer of Desert Combat. Frank and
his team at Tramua Studios ended up making the most successful
modification of all times with over 3 million downloads as of
September 2004. One problem occurred which was not seen by anyone
until the Spring of 2005.
A Short history:
DICE bought Trauma on Sept 1st 2004, and hired the ones that
wanted to work as a part of DICE. Then in the Spring of 2005 they
fired Frank DeLise, his old Desert Combat people, closed the
Trauma office in New York, and reneged on $200,000 stilled owed on
the Purchase of Trauma .
In short DICE wanted to avoid any infringement law suite that
Trauma could have brought if DICE made BF2, which is a lot of
Desert Combat. When they bought Trauma they, DICE, and now EA
owned all rights to the mod Desert Combat.
Quote From Thomas Skoglund, the chairman of
the board of Digital Illusions
| "The conditions have changed and the future
plans of the company differ considerably from when Trauma
Studios was acquired in September of 2004. The acquisition
of Trauma Studios was nevertheless particularly motivated.
The deal contained value in form of rights to trademarks as
well as a new game concept", says Thomas Skoglund, the
chairman of the board of Digital Illusions." |
A good interview with Frank in December of 2004:
http://features.cgsociety.org/story_custom.php?story_id=2610
I'm sure Frank DeLise has kicked himself many times for not seeing
this coming from the get go, but life is a learning experience.
Frank is now a much wiser man, and has moved on with his life in
the Game development field. Frank Delise, is now lead designer and
general manager of Kaos Studios, which is owned by THQ. The game
promotional company THQ is noted for working quite well with all
their individual design studios. The Kaos Studios team has been
working with it's 40+ members on a project that could be a little
payback for EA/DICE past back stabbing.
Read the following article and you will see what I mean:
http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=10232
As they say, What goes around, comes around!
Frank's Battlefield 2142 Killer? Maybe!
http://www.kaosstudios.com/
From the little I have seen so far "Fuel of war" could be the game
of choice of this Clan in the near future.

EA/DICE Are Still
The Same!.
June 10th 2006 - by Bama |

Well, I did buy the AF Booster
Pack even while I detest the GameSpy account for usage of AF and
EF. I have 5 nicks that I use and can only play with one of them
and it's an on-line nick, meaning if I was off-line I could not
play even with my off-line account. Why the hell they could not
have tied AF & EF with the original BF2 CD Hash I'll never know.
This would have allowed you to play AF & EF with any nicknames you
have.
I was pretty pissed off about EF and the GameSpy thing, and
bought AF just to test it and see if it was worth anything at all.
First off all I see is 3 very nice maps, and that's about it. The
very few new content items like the A-10, SU-29, the CH what ever,
and the 2 Little birds is all you get. Secondly the Fixed-Wing air
really suck insomuch as the way they fly and the so called 30mm
cannon on the A-10. The FX effects on the 30mm cannon is really
weak as is the kill effect. The SU which is suppose to have a 30mm
only has a tat, tat, tat cannon that sounds like a toy. The A-10
and SU in US Intervention are 10 times better. The only thing they
did right is the two Littlebirds. The handling 'Flying" physics of
the Littlebirds is durn good, much better than any helicopter in
the game. Any Modder out there should copy the physics settings
for any Littlebirds they plan on using in their mod, i.e. Desert
Conflict. As for the maps, many of the map makers in the community
could do just as good, and their free.
Why EA/DICE did not go all the way with SP support in my
option is pure laziness. One thing for sure you will not see very
many Multi-player servers running AF within a month, just like EF.
Simple: You have a full server using regular BF2 maps, you rotate
in a AF map and all of a sudden you have a empty server. I feel
that EA/DICE could have made more money in the long run by giving
AF & EF to the community Free. As many Players that they have
pissed off they have only managed to piss off even more.
If anyone ever needed some good PR it's EA and DICE.

| It's been about a month since
the first of the EA/DICE ten dollar Booster Packs "Euro Force" was
released in what was a cloud of crying and complaining. From the
very get go EA had problems with their Downloader, and the way it
was set up to be used by the players who purchased the Booster
Pack. I think the biggest problem was the fact that the Community
felt that EA had no trust in its own Battlefield Community, and
they would be right. In order to protect its $10.00 Booster pack
from being used illegally EA set up a complicated arrangement with
Game Spy whereby only the Game Spy registration used to purchase
the Booster Pack would work. First off very few players new that
when they first installed BF2 on their gamer the Nick-name they
set up was also a Game Spy membership & user name. There are not
many of us who don't have....

Auto-Balance is Not
For Team Play

Multi-Player on-line Team
games like BF2 should never use Auto-Balance! Why? It should be
self explanatory by the definition of the name it self "TEAM", and
the simple fact that most players are playing with friends or Clan
Mates. Auto-Balance just splits friends and Clan members apart,
and the server just reverts to many players playing as smacktard
individuals. The Auto-Balance feature defeats the whole object of
the so called team game, and just brings on a load of pure
frustration for the players who really want to play as a team.
Smart-Balance is an attempt to correct this problem, however 99%
of server Administrators have no clue how....

The DCBB Forums will be down for a
day or two untill I can get a Mod in place to counter this attack.
We are getting hit by a program that creates many Botts that enter
as new Guests and crowd the data base so much that the forums can
not work. Does anyone have a temp forum we can use for now,
or when I finish running some errands I will try and run up one
some where. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Today is a new day in the DCBB, a day
that we as a Clan of on-line gamming Brothers move forward into
the future. As of today the DCBB is no longer a one
dimensional Clan playing only one game. In a since we are
reaching into our past in order to move forward into the future as
a multi-gamming Clan. The DCBB has been a BF2 Gamming Clan
only, but today we are a two game Brotherhood with the addition of
the DCBB Desert Combat Division. This is to be the first of
many new Game divisions that will be added over the next year.
Games like Ghost Recon 3, BF2142, Half Life2, WOW, BF2 mods like
Desert Conflict & POE, and other games which will be coming in the
future.
The DC Division starts with ---->

Splash In The Pan, EA Screws Up Again!

I don't have a problem with EA
making money, nor should anyone, after all that's what business is
all about. What I do have is a problem with the left handed
approach to how these Booster Packs work. It seems that EA is so
paranoid about someone stealing $10.00 from them, and has a total
lack of understanding on how the BF2 Community plays their game.
When a Game Producer such as EA implements this type of overly
zealous anti-theft protection of a product i.e. "Booster Pack"
they are showing us just what they

Fix Patch 1.21 For
BF2 1.2 Patch & More

Can it really get any worst?
Personally I would say NO, but I have been wrong many times
before. Never have I seen a patch so hyped-up as this long awaited
fix all Patch, and all we get is an injection of new bugs. The
real stickler is that they never fixed the majority of the
original bugs the Patch was to address. So, what do we have now?
We have an even bugger game and another promise coming from
EA/DICE about a patch to fix the patch. How ludicrous can you get?
These people should be professionals in the gaming business! Are
they not in the business of making money selling PC-Games?
Shouldn't these games work right out of the box? Not from EA/DICE
obviously! I can't see them taking pleasure in screwing up a
potentially great game. More than likely they delegated their
lesser talented people to work on these Patchs. Sad, it's so very
sad!
Now we are all waiting for a new patch to fix a patch, and
to tell you the truth, I'm not expecting anything different from
these people. Why should I? Why should you? EA/DICE have a great
track-record over the last 9 months of doing very little, and even
the very little done is awful. If they have done anything great it
would be in profssional-ineptness, and ineptness they truly are
excelling. So, what next? We all will wait around on another patch
with yet another promise that all will be well after Patch v1.21.
Duh!
What can we as individuals do about this kind of treatment
by EA/DICE?

Booster Packs,
Xpacks, and Crybabies! |

Contrary to most of the
Crybabies bitching about the up coming Booster packs for BF2
I'm totally in favor of them especially over the old Xpacks of the
past. As for the $10.00 US for the packs, well that is more
than reasonable to pay for the work involved by DICE to make them.
Why would anyone feel they should be getting them for free is
beyond me. The day that the profit equation is gone from the
game or games is the day we don't have any more new games being
offered by game developers. It's hard to believe that all
the moaners and groaners feel they should be free. The name
of the game gentlemen is Capitalism, and without it there would
not be any computer games or even computers, so get your heads out
of your ass and shut the fuck up.
The best thing about the Booster Packs over the Xpack's is the
simple fact that they are a part of BF2 it self and not a Mod like
the Xpack. Maybe EA/DICE have finally realized that Xpacks
are in direct competition with their own Mod community, and not in
their best interest. If I continue to play BF2 I look
forward to the Booster Packs as additional maps and features that
can be added to the rotation of any BF2 Ranked or unranked server.
If you can not afford to pay a measly $10 bucks then you don't
need to be playing the game, and for that matter any computer
game. Booster Packs are by and far the best way for EA/DICE
to move ahead making money and offering the community something
that we can all use. If you can remember only one thing then
remember without the money there would not even be a Battlefield
2, or even a Battlefield 1942. For that matter there would not
even be a mod available, and there would never have been a Desert
Combat. The Final analyzes is simple, pay the $10.00 and
quit your bitching! |
